The Inquisition, Let's Begin...

Am I the only one who finds it weird that someone who claims to be infallible on matters of faith, as well as so many who practice what they claim to be The One True Faith, are upset because some guy wrote a novel saying Jesus married and had children with Mary Magdalene?

The Pope needs to look on the bright side: At least Mary Magdalene was not using birth control.

As a lawyer, you should know to get your facts straight. Infallibility applies to "faith" etc which is clearly not the case here.Infallibility has not been used since 1954 and the time before that was 186 something. Agree "they" are overreacting but "they" always do.

You miss the point, TKOP. The issue is not whether the Pope is acting "ex cathedra" now (although ask those who have disagreed with him and his predecessor to see just how fallible Popes ever think they are). Rather, the issue is why, given all that is going on in this world, the Vicar of Christ cares about the contents of a hack novel.
